Shout or Whisper Workshop - Poetry or Prose

We are delighted to be delivering our first ever workshop at Cantina Carnitas. This is a 'pay what you feel' event, with all proceeds going to Humanitas Charity. 

This is a safe space to come and develop your writing skills. In this session, we will be discussing and practising both poetry and prose. We are going to be asking questions like: 'What is the difference between poetry and prose?' 'How can writing one help improve the other?' 'How on earth do I begin to write?' 

We are not pretending to have all the answers on how to write, but we have a couple of ideas on how to develop pieces from nothing. This workshop is open to ALL abilities; you do not need to have had previous experience of writing at all.  We are also open to anyone who is developing pieces currently to get some feedback. 

The workshop itself will be split into four sections: 

1) Writing prose

2) Writing poetry 

3) "The Cult of the Positive" - Feedback and Editing 

4) What to think about when you read your work to an audience. 

This will then be immediately followed by an open mic event for people to share their work. Don't feel like you have to share, but we would love for you to stay and meet some local creative types do their thing.
